Patti Duncan, Ph.D.

Patti Duncan, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Women's Studies, and teaches courses on Asian and Asian Pacific American women and global feminist issues. She received her B.A. from Vassar College. She has published numerous articles in journals and anthologies, and is the author of Tell This Silence: Asian American Women and Politics of Speech (University of Iowa Press, 2004), which received an Academic Choice Award in 2005. Her current research focuses on women's resistance to militarism in Asian and transnational feminist responses to violence against women, and for the last two years she has worked with several human rights NGOs in South Korea, Vietnam, and Cambodia. She was the associate producer for "Bombhunters," a documentary film about the legacy of war in Cambodia. She has given more than 50 presentations at conferences and events about women of color and global women's issues. She is a reviewer for the Asian Journal of Women's Studies (South Korea) and the National Women's Studies Association Journal (U.S.).
